On September 28, 2011, the Centre for the Environment and Development (CED) presented its 2010 Report on Transparency in the Forest Sector in Cameroon to members of the national and international press. The event took place in the conference room of the Hotel Azur in Yaoundé, in the presence of more than 80 participants from various sectors. These included representatives of the government, parliamentarians, independent observers, civil society, development partners and the private sector.
One of the highlights of these discussions was the offer of formal collaboration between the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife and the CED, which was made by the Assistant Director of Inventories and Forest Management representing the Director of Forests at the ceremony. The process of implementing this proposal has been initiated by CED, namely through getting into contact with the concerned officials.
